Young students today are the thought leaders of tomorrow. It is imperative to imbibe the spirit of equality and inclusivity in the early years of youth, so that we all grow up into socially sensitive and responsible citizens. In the modern world, there is an urgent need to raise awareness about visible and invisible disabilities, in order to create an inclusive culture where everyone gets an equal opportunity to be able to grow into the best version of themselves.
It is with this vision, that a new Club at School was founded in 2024. The name of the club is Prayaas, which means “attempt”. The club aims to spread awareness about the needs of people with disabilities, and how we all can make our best attempt towards building a more inclusive and equal world. We also seek to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
- Organising talks and seminars for discussing and sharing ideas on increasing awareness
- Collaborating with NGOs working in the sector for greater outreach
- Conducting poster making, drawing, caption-writing contests for promoting the ideas of inclusivity among our students
- Compiling and sharing content for awareness for youth both through online and offline mode
- Creating a website for showcasing our work and to collaborate with civil society/Government bodies for awareness drives outside school too
- Working within Rajasthan and with other states to take this movement forward.
